      COLLABORATIONS

      Forestami collaborates with national and international urban forestry organizations and initiatives that operate within the Metropolitan City of Milan. It also takes part in events and conferences with the aim of promoting the project, building new networks, and fostering territorial and strategic synergies.

      3 Billion Trees Pledge

      Forestami tracks the trees planted through the 3 Billion Trees Pledge, the commitment made by the European Union to plant 3 billion trees by 2030. Learn more.

      UForest – European Alliance on Interdisciplinary Learning and Business Innovation for Urban Forests Project

      UForest is a three-year Knowledge Alliance project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission. The project promotes a cross-sectoral alliance that brings together universities, businesses, and public administrations from disciplines often not collaborative, such as urban planning and architecture, with forestry and urban ecology, as well as with socio-economic information and communication technologies (ICT). The alliance forms the foundation for the development of new training and supports students and professionals working on innovative urban forestry projects.

       

      A 1.5-hectare intervention will be carried out, with a total of 1,680 trees.

      SUPERB – Systemic solutions for upscaling of urgent ecosystem restoration for forest related biodiversity and ecosystem services

      It is a 20 million euro project funded by the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the European Union’s Green Deal to restore thousands of hectares of forest landscape across Europe. With 36 partners in 16 countries, led by the European Forest Institute and co-coordinated by Wageningen Environmental Research, SUPERB will implement concrete restoration actions in 12 large-scale demonstration areas.

       

      Five interventions have been carried out, covering 12 hectares, with a total of 13,000 trees and shrubs planted.

      National Biodiversity Future Centre – (NBFC)

      The NBFC is a network of 48 partners coordinated by the National Research Council (CNR), formed around the priority theme of biodiversity. In response to the public notice of the PNRR for strengthening research structures and the creation of ‘national champions’ of research and development on key enabling technologies, published by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR), the Center supports research and innovation activities for the enhancement of biodiversity through circular economy processes and economic restoration, capable of protecting environmental resources and ensuring the well-being of individuals.

       

      Three interventions have been carried out, covering 3.6 hectares, with a total of 3,800 trees and shrubs planted.”

      Bando Ministeriale RIFORESTAZIONE – Decreto Clima 2020

      The climate regulates the planning methods for interventions and the allocation of resources to fund experimental programs for the creation of urban and peri-urban forests in the 14 metropolitan areas of Italy.


      Fifteen projects have been presented and funded in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Milan, covering a total of 37 hectares and approximately 60,500 trees and shrubs planted.

      Serravalle and Arbolia

      Serravalle and Arbolia have carried out 2 interventions in the Metropolitan City of Milan, covering a total of 8.5 hectares and more than 7,700 plants, including trees and shrubs.
