Objective
The new wooded area on Via Monte Bianco improves urban quality and counters the urban heat island effect in the city’s industrial sector.
Vittuone
The Forestami project in Vittuone is located in an industrial context in the eastern part of the city, involving a green space between warehouses on Via Monte Bianco.
Designed and implemented in collaboration with Il Giardinone Cooperativa Sociale, it has created a new woodland of 1,090 plants that will play a key role in improving urban quality and green connections within the industrial area, as well as mitigating the urban heat island effect caused by the high soil impermeabilization typical of these zones.
A wooded area with trees and shrub species such as English oak, Turkey oak, hornbeam, wild cherry, field maple, European ash, hazel, spindle tree, dogwood, and common privet will grow here.
The tree planting involved the participation of the Mayor, councilors, and citizens, united to make their city greener.
